According to the latest market outlook from construction insight firm Glenigan, the UK is heading into a period of strong growth across the construction sector, with eight out of ten monitored sectors forecast to see increased activity in 2025.
The total value of project-starts under £100 million is expected to rise by 8% in 2025, with momentum continuing for a forecast increase of 10% in 2026.
One of the key drivers behind this projected upturn is the clearer government spending priorities following the most recent budget announcements, reinvigorating investor confidence from 2025 onwards.
Residential construction is set to play a pivotal role in this growth. Both SFH and PBSA/PRS housing are forecast to see double-digit expansion over the next two years. SFH is expected to lead the way, with growth of 13% in 2025 and 15% in 2026.
With these forecasts, the construction sector appears poised for strong growth, bringing opportunities and renewed confidence across the industry. One of the many ways Cassidy Group Ltd also ensures confidence for investors is by working closely with councils to deliver high-quality and environmentally-efficient residential schemes where they’re needed most, thereby removing barriers to development.
